Are you ready for some football? With the 2025 National Football League (NFL) Preseason schedule underway, fans in the United States and across the globe are already counting down the days until the regular season begins on September 4!
The NFL has been America’s top sport for decades, and since the league began holding international games yearly in 2005, its popularity has expanded significantly worldwide.
This season will be the biggest yet in terms of games played outside the U.S.
With games scheduled to be played in Brazil, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and three in England, the global flavor and interest in the NFL have never been higher. The popularity of international games has many fans wondering if the NFL is planning to expand the league with teams outside the U.S. It sure is trending in that direction.
Reports of the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) starting a European division that would mix in games with the U.S. divisions began to swirl last January. They resurfaced once again this past June. NFL purists are strongly against this move. However, if there is money to be made, you know the NFL will make it happen.
While a possible expansion could be on the horizon soon, all pigskin fans are focusing on at the moment is the upcoming 2025-2026 season. Every team will be starting Week 1 this September with a 0-0 record and high hopes of making a run at Super Bowl 60.
Trust me when I say some teams predicted to do well will not, and others will defy the odds and play better than anticipated. It happens every year.
So, which teams are favored to win the 2026 Super Bowl? According to Las Vegas oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook, here is how the top ten favorites break down.
Right at the top of the list are the same two who battled it out last season for Super Bowl supremacy — the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The defending-champion Eagles are the favorites to win the 2026 Super Bowl at +700, or 7/1 odds. Kansas City is close behind at +800, or 8/1 odds.

Tied with the Eagles at +700 are the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills. Is this the year the Ravens finally get over the top in the AFC? All-Pro Quarterback Lamar Jackson has dominated the league the past few seasons; however, Jackson’s postseason play has been less stellar than his Superman-like ability.
The remaining teams that round out the top ten favorites look this way. The Detroit Lions +1000 hold the No. 5 spot, followed by the San Francisco 49ers at +1900. A three-way tie for seventh spot belongs to the Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Rams, and Green Bay Packers, all of which are listed at +2000. The tenth slot belongs to the fast-improving Denver Broncos at +2200.
If you have a hunch that a team not mentioned above could win Super Bowl 60, now would be a great time to place a wager on them. The remaining 22 teams that didn’t crack the top ten all have huge odds, and a very small monetary wager could have a huge payoff!
As for me, I believe the winner of the 2026 Super Bowl is listed in that top ten above. Two years ago, this team was 10 minutes away from advancing to their first Super Bowl appearance ever, but fell short in the NFC Championship game vs San Francisco.
Last season the same squad owned the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but the mounting list of injuries was just too much to overcome and they were defeated by the Washington Commanders.
I am talking about the Detroit Lions.
If, and that’s a big if, they can avoid the injury bug that consumed them last season, the Lions are poised to dominate.
In 2024, the Lions suffered so many injuries that it almost became comical. No matter how you slice it, when your defense loses Aidan Hutchinson, Alim McNeill, and Derrick Barnes for the majority of the season, along with many key players on offense, it just takes too big a toll.
Fortunately for the Lions, all of the injured players are back in camp this season, healthy, and ready to make that Super Bowl run.
Detroit Lions Super Bowl 2026 champions? At +1000, I’ll take that bet!
Which team are you predicting to capture the 2026 NFL Championship?
