The soothing beige and white interior is simply decorated with sepia photos. A few trendy gimmicks may appear, like liquid pizza or red pepper that looks like a perfectly laid egg, but both are as tasty as they are amusing. An antipasto of carciofi stufati, artichokes with fresh black truffles and sage, has prime ingredients but a bit bold to give the ‘choke much breathing room. Unmissables: aromatic primo of Flan Royal alle erbe con polenta morbia e tartufo nero, deliciously fragrant with herbs that let the black truffles do their magic. Also, risotto made from sweet and hot peppers cooled down with a bit of mint. The stinco di agnello was beautifully seasoned. Tender braised lamb came with two superb sauces, one herb and the other a traditional rich brown sauce. The filet of venison with red mirtilli berries and pumpkin puree is another treat. Antipasti and primi range €10-15, meat dishes €18-24, or a three-course meal with cheese or dessert runs €45-55, an especially good value when costly ingredients like truffles come into play.
