Genoa, IT-GE 16123 Italy 010.246.8903
This restaurant has been in the same family since 1790, which doesn’t always bode well. In fact, beware the line as an excuse for quality. Here, however, history has its place. First, you have the 16th century palazzo. Then, delicious gnocchetti al basilico in salsa di gamberi (little gnocchi in shrimp sauce). The seafood is solid all around and there’s pizza for those who need relief. This was once close to Genoa’s herb and spice market, hence the name of the street. Antica Trattoria di Piazza delle Erbe was transformed into today’s Antico Ristorante Panson dal 1790. Closed Sunday for dinner.
